Yesterday near the central station of Napoli, precisely in Corso Merdionale, a security guard thwarted an attempted luggage theft.
A tourist bus waiting for a group of Japanese arriving from Rome, for a tour of the tourist areas of Campania, was targeted by luggage thieves. As the passengers were boarding the bus, a young couple approached and with a lightning-fast move took away some of the luggage.
The scene was witnessed by Giuseppe Alviti, President of the National Association of Security Guards, also a security guard but off duty at the time, who tried to stop the pair of thieves.
The two at that point thought it best to run away, abandoning the stolen goods. Some of the tourists photographed the incident and applauded the security guard who intervened.
