Screens in the stations showing news about the new plan, disoriented users, information provided by the controllers and waits that were all in all limited in Torre Annunziata, strong discontent among travellers waiting in the cities no longer served along the Naples-Sorrento line (Torre del Greco, Ercolano, Portici and San Giorgio a Cremano).
The new service that will characterize the next two months of the Circumvesuviana started today, on an experimental basis: the plan, studied by the Ente Autonomo Volturno, has as its main novelty the fact that along the Naples-Sorrento route, the convoys will not make intermediate stops between Naples Piazza Garibaldi and Torre Annunziata.
With this last stop becoming an interchange hub for users who from the cities of the Golden Mile intend to go to the Sorrento peninsula, but also to Castellammare di Stabia and Pompeii excavations-Villa of the Mysteries, but also who from these locations need to return home.
”The start of the new plan – says a user dissatisfied with the innovations introduced by Eav – It was characterized by little information about timetables and the usual approximation about information. Personally, I took a train in Torre del Greco at 8:38, which arrived three minutes late, and in Torre Annunziata I had to wait another ten minutes for the train that would take me to Castellammare, where I work”.
On the other hand, there are those who underline how "at least so far, trains on the Naples-Torre Annunziata route have shown a certain punctuality, which makes the inconvenience of having to change trains in Torre Annunziata a 'pain' that is all in all bearable."
There are those who then complain about long intervals between one race and another. ”I arrived at the Circum station in Torre del Greco – says a traveler headed to Naples – at 8am, discovering that the first bus to the capital was scheduled for 50am.
For the return, scheduled shortly after 19 pm, I saw that two trips to Torre del Greco were scheduled at 19:02 pm and 19:08 pm, before a mandatory half-hour wait for the 19:38 pm train. And to think that the new plan had been presented by Eav as one that guaranteed trips every 16 minutes”.
