Sand, sarongs, ice creams, scorching sun. The Italian summer has always been synonymous with carefreeness and parties until dawn.
VOGA know this well and fresh from summer songs with tens of millions of streams like “MIRANAPOLI !” and “MAREKIARO”, this time they take one of the symbolic songs par excellence of the summers of the early 2000s and frame it with that coolness that characterizes their productions. “ASEREJE”, the new single of the duo in collaboration with Slings, is out now everywhere at the link https://wmi.lnk.to/asereje.
It's hard not to have sung and danced to the 2002 hit "The Ketchup Song (Asereje)" by the Spanish band Las Ketchup. Now Voga are bringing it to 2023 to the rhythm of dancehall and writing another chapter of this song, entering a tradition that has its roots in "Good Times" by CHIC, passing through the curious connection with the lyrics of "Rapper's Delight" by the Sugarhill Gang, the versions by Las Ketchup, Bob Sinclair, Pitbull and finally arriving in the streets of Naples in "Asereje".
Voga is a duo of Neapolitan artists born in 99, composed of the singer-songwriter and producer Rico (Enrico Esposito) and the producer Sneikintewaves (Lorenzo Biscione). Despite coming from different musical backgrounds, the two met at the conservatory, electronic music major, and in 2019 they decided to work together, taking the name Voga. The first official release with this name was born from the friendship with Drast and is a collaboration contained in “1002”, EP by Psicologi, which sees Voga involved in the production of the last song, entitled “2001”.
During 2020 they released the singles “Hardcore”, “Offline”, “Anticorpi” with Yung Snapp and Blue Klein. 2021 is marked by the release of the double single “SPAGHETTI WESTERN” which contains the songs “Champagne Solo” and “Cowboys” and “MIRANAPOLI !” inspired by the iconic bar in the Posillipo district of Naples, in collaboration with Yung Snapp and MV Killa.
They open their 2022 with the single “XFETTI SCONOSCIUTI”, released on January 21, a song embellished by the citation of “Brivido” by Gué and Marracash. This choice confirms a distinctive trait of the duo's musical production, full of references and tributes to historic songs. This is followed by the collaboration with Yung Snapp on the production of “TRAVESURAS”, a platinum-certified song by SLF that anticipates the arrival of the WE THE SQUAD, Vol. 1 project. The support and embrace of the Neapolitan scene returns in the collaboration with CoCo for “MAREKIARO” and “NIENTE DI PERSONALE”, where they combine a fresh and delicate sound attitude with heavy and cheeky rapping. At the beginning of 2023 comes “IO & TE” which sees a sample of Roshelle in the production and is enriched by the sampling of Luchè in the first verse. In May they collaborated as producers on “Dove Volano Le Aquile Vol.2” by Luchè in the songs “Niente” and “Non Siamo Uguali” feat Coco.
