NAPLES – A snatch theft took place yesterday evening along c where a 19-year-old of Tunisian origin, already known to the police, stole a cell phone from a passerby and then attempted to escape. The young man, who is illegally staying in the country, was arrested by State Police officers and also reported for illegal entry and residence in Italy.
The chase and arrest
The officers of the Office of General Prevention and Public Aid, during a territorial control service, noticed a man who, shouting for help, was chasing the thief and indicating the direction of his escape. The fugitive, noticing the presence of the Police, dropped his cell phone on the ground in an attempt to escape.
The officers' reaction was immediate: the 19-year-old was stopped a short distance away and the phone, which turned out to be the victim's property, was recovered.
The man was arrested on charges of snatching theft and placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities.

It's amazing how thieves can act in broad daylight without fear of being arrested, but fortunately the police acted in time and the phone was recovered. Let's hope justice takes its course.
