Torre Annunziata – A heavy blow to the Camorra clans was inflicted by the Carabinieri in the heart of Prison District.

In a large-scale operation, conducted with the support of the military of the Helicopter Squadron Hunters of Calabria and canine unit, a real arsenal was found hidden inside a abandoned building.
During the raids, the military found a duffle bag containing a Uzi submachine gun complete with ammunition, a Shotgun loaded and ready to use, two pistols – a Browning and a 357 Magnum – and 40 cartridges of various calibers.
In a bag there were also 3,5 kilograms of drugs
But not only weapons: hidden in the bag were also a kilo of cocaine, one of hashish, a kilo and a half of marijuana, two precision scales and packaging material for the doses, a clear sign of a well-organized drug dealing activity.
The weapons, all seized, will now be subjected to specific ballistic tests to verify their possible use in criminal episodes, including murders and ambushes occurred recently in the Torre Annunziata area.
The investigations by the Carabinieri and the judiciary are now aimed at discovering who the weapons and drugs belonged to.
