During targeted checks on pollution of the Sarno River, the soldiers of the Nucleus of Castellammare di Stabia, in collaboration with i Nas di Napoli and the Carabinieri Nucleus of the park Boscoreale, have made a worrying discovery in an agricultural pharmacy in Pompei.
During the inspection, which focused on phytosanitary products, irregularities emerged which led to the seizure of 83 packs di pesticides of various capacities, including herbicides e pesticides. What makes this discovery particularly serious is that, according to the data consulted in the Ministry of Health system, the pesticides in question had Authorizations revoked and stocks were intended for the disposal, thus making them not marketable.
The investigations conducted against the agricultural pharmacy involved will continue to identify any responsibilities and ascertain the reasons behind the use of non-compliant pesticides. Episodes like this highlight the need for rigorous supervision and constant checks to ensure compliance and adherence to regulations in the pesticide sector.
