The Gorizia Police arrested a 22-year-old Napoli, for a scam perpetrated in the centre of the Isonzo capital, recovering gold jewellery worth almost 10 thousand euros.
The investigation was triggered after a report to the Operations Room of the Gorizia Police Headquarters of several attempted scams committed by individuals who, after having telephoned numerous people pretending to be lawyers, had informed the victims of an accident, which in reality had never occurred, caused by one of their relatives, requesting money to obtain his immediate release from arrest by the police.
Agents from the Flying Squad thus followed a suspect until he exited a building holding a bag containing over 150 grams of gold jewelry that had just been delivered by an elderly couple who had been victims of the scam.
