Article Key Points
The decision comes after the Court of Avellino had sanctioned the existence of the organization with a ruling last April 27.
Objections from defense lawyers
The seals affixed by the Economic and Financial Police Unit of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples were opposed by four lawyers of the defense team: Villani, Furgiuele, Taormina and Botti. However, the Review Court rejected these objections, confirming the seizure of the assets.
Reiteration of the seizure
This is the reiteration of a seizure already carried out by the financiers on behalf of the Naples Anti-Mafia Prosecutor's Office. The suspects involved are Armando Aprile, Gianluca Formisano, Antonio Barone and Livia Forte. The new sentence therefore keeps a vast patrimony of assets under seizure.
According to the new decision, 70 properties, 26 lands, 6 companies, 3 vehicles and almost 600 thousand euros remain under seizure. This significant blow represents an important step in the fight against the criminal activities of the “Auction Clan”.
