Torre Annunziata. Another tragedy on the roads of the province of Naples: an 85-year-old man lost his life this morning after being hit in Torre Annunziata.
This is the second fatal accident in a few hours, after the one involving a 79-year-old in Torre del Greco.
The accident occurred in Via Caracciolo, near the commercial port, a few dozen meters from the place where two young motorcyclists died two weeks ago.
The elderly man was promptly rescued and rushed to the San Leonardo hospital in Castellammare di Stabia, where he died shortly after admission.
The Torre Annunziata Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into the incident for road homicide , which has entrusted the investigation to the local Oplonti police.
Today's two tragedies bring to the fore the issue of road safety, especially for the elderly, who are often more vulnerable in the event of accidents.
