In Portici, a truly special sign has appeared on the seafront. Not a typical road sign, but a heartfelt invitation: "Stop and Kiss."

The idea was born from the city councilors Dario Formicola and Maria Rosaria Cirillo, who wanted to celebrate the romantic atmosphere of Portici with a simple but meaningful gesture.

On the beach overlooking the Gulf of Naples, among the flowerbeds, a sign with two lips surrounded by little hearts indicates a corner dedicated to love, an invitation to stop for a moment and enjoy the beauty of the panorama with a tender gesture.

“An idea born from a sunset”, he says Dario Formicola. “Looking at our newly opened beautiful waterfront, I thought something special was needed to enhance its romance.

After all, this place has inspired great artists such as Giuseppe De Nittis and the School of Resina. And the kiss? It is the most beautiful gesture to express love”.

The initiative, welcomed with enthusiasm by the municipal administration, is part of a broader project to enhance the waterfront.

“Our seaside park is increasingly loved by Portici residents and tourists”, explains Florinda Green, Councillor for the Environment. “After having raised awareness of the importance of respecting the environment, we also wanted to underline the romantic aspect of this place”.
