The Court of Napoli ha registrato circa 6.500 procedimenti per violence di genere nel corso degli ultimi mesi.
An alarming figure, which emerged during a conference in Castel Capuano, which highlights the extent of the phenomenon. Only for cases of mistreatment, in the period January 2023 - September 2024, 2.844 proceedings were concluded in the first instance and 1004 in appeal.
Organized by the Court of Appeal and the Attorney General's Office, the event was attended by the Minister of Justice, Carlo Nordio, and emphasized the need for a multidisciplinary approach to the problem.
The President of the Court of Appeal, Maria Rosaria Covelli, highlighted the importance of collaboration between the judiciary, law enforcement and local institutions to combat this phenomenon.
"Despite the efforts made by the institutions, we are still far from eradicating it. A constant and coordinated commitment from all the actors involved is necessary, from the police to the judiciary, passing through local institutions".
