The Parco dei Quartieri Spagnoli in Naples is preparing to host an evening dedicated to Russian and Soviet cinema on Sunday, October 20th at 21.00:XNUMX PM. The event, called "Shards of Russian and Soviet Cinema," is organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Naples, Parco Quartieri Spagnoli Community Hub, Diari di Cineclub Radio, and the Maskim Gor'kij Association of Naples.
Three Films Telling Stories from Different Angles of the Former USSR
During the evening, viewers will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in three unique short films. The first, "Hedgehog in the Fog" by Yuri Norshteyn, is a delicate 10-minute animation from Russia. This is followed by "Ten Minutes Older," a work of the same length by Herz Frank, coming from Latvia. Finally, "The Umbrella" by Mikhail Kobakhidze, an 18-minute short from Georgia, will round out the film evening.
Interventions and Free Access
"Enriching the experience, there will be presentations by Antonella Cristiani, editorial curator, and Antonio Vladimir Marino. It's important to note that the first film will feature a small section in Russian with Italian subtitles, while the other two will be dialogue-free. Admission is free, and the screenings will take place indoors in Palazzina H." Those wishing to participate can reach the Parco dei Quartieri Spagnoli by taking the funicular from Montesanto (Corso Vittorio Emanuele stop) or by taking the C16 bus along the Corso. The initiative promises to offer a unique cultural experience, exploring the cinema of bygone eras through "snippets" of stories told with mastery and sensitivity.
