Inter Juve – A Derby d'Italia full of emotions and twists that took place yesterday at San Siro, where Inter and Juventus played out a spectacular match, which ended with a dramatic 4-4. In the ninth matchday of Serie A, both teams fought until the end, with the Nerazzurri squandering a two-goal lead, allowing Juve to snatch the equaliser in the final minutes thanks to a brace from the young talent Yildiz.
With this result, neither team can get close to Napoli, who lead the standings with 22 points, while Inter stops at 18 and Juventus at 17. Inzaghi lines up a midfield with Zieliński, Barella and Mkhitaryan in the absence of Calhanoglu, and the attacking duo of Thuram and Lautaro up front. Thiago Motta responds with Conceicao and Weah on the wings, Fagioli in the attacking midfield and Vlahovic as central striker.
The match was unlocked in the 15th minute, when Thuram was brought down in the area by Danilo and referee Guida awarded a penalty: Zieliński kicked it in the center, making it 1-0 for Inter. Juventus reacted promptly, and in the 20th minute they equalized with a splendid team move: Cabal served McKennie, who set up Vlahovic for 1-1. In the 26th minute, Juventus took the lead with Weah, served by Conceicao after a lightning-fast penetration.
The Nerazzurri's response was not long in coming: in the 35th minute, Mkhitaryan outwitted Di Gregorio with a precise left-footed shot that made it 2-2. Shortly after, Inter won their second penalty of the evening, once again with Zieliński making it 3-2. Before half-time, Inter almost scored a poker with Thuram, but his cross for Lautaro failed to materialize.
In the second half, the Nerazzurri continued to push and found the 4-2 in the 53rd minute with Dumfries, who collected a short clearance and beat Di Gregorio. Despite the two-goal deficit, Juventus did not give up and in the 71st minute reduced the gap with Yildiz, who made it 4-3 with a powerful left-footed shot.
Inter wastes several chances to close the match, while Juventus insists, finding the definitive 4-4 in the 82nd minute: Yildiz, once again, collects a cross from Conceicao and concludes with a precise shot, leaving Sommer with no escape. In the minutes of recovery, Inter tries the final assault with Frattesi, but without luck.
