In Naples, the Barra Circumvesuviana underpass, previously closed due to structural unusability, will reopen tomorrow at 15:30 p.m. EaV announced this, underlining how, in less than 100 days and with an investment of approximately XNUMX thousand euros, the public transport company of the Campania Region has completed the redevelopment of the underpass.
According to the agreements stipulated, the Municipality of Naples will be responsible for the ordinary maintenance, lighting and cleaning of the area. The interventions followed two main lines of action: the improvement of the decor and the environment of the underpass and, at the same time, significant structural works to solve the problems of infiltration related to the aquifer.
Specifically, the works included the creation of drainage holes to channel water towards the existing grids, the replacement of the floor with a floating one, the laying of a new railway-resistant and low-slip floor, the waterproofing of the walls and the demolition of the worn steps, rebuilt in lava stone with anti-slip strips.
“With this complete redevelopment, we are returning the underpass to the local community in its full functionality and dignity,” EaV underlines.
