Aversa. Thieves of fast cars, very fast indeed: 60 seconds or a little more to steal a car in the city center and in broad daylight under the eyes of the cameras. A lightning-fast action: once they have spotted their prey and made sure that there are no prying eyes around, it takes them a little more than a minute to force open the car door, get inside and take the vehicle away.
It happened at Aversa, in via Grazia Deledda. A car theft in broad daylight and right in the city center. “Aversa is getting worse every day in every aspect. In broad daylight, on a busy street near the center, a theft like this,” says a resident who sent the images of the flash theft to the Green-Sinistra alliance MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli.
“Entire and vast areas have become free zones for thieves, robbers and criminals. The law is no longer at home there. They are committed theft to criminal actions without any scruples, without any fear because patrols and preventive measures are in place.
Fear that instead affects citizens, increasingly at the mercy of crime that very often does not stop at theft but causes damage to people. A new security plan is urgently needed, but it cannot be implemented if we do not start hiring new police officers.”– these are Borrelli’s words.

the situation in Aversa is really worrying, but I wonder if the cameras are of any use. The thieves seem to have time to do what they want without anyone stopping them. I hope the authorities intervene before something more serious happens.
