Tension is growing in Terzigno over a wave of thefts that is alarming the population.
During the night between Sunday and Monday, March 17, an episode further fueled the anger of citizens: a family, returning home, surprised thieves inside their home.
Alerted by the sound of footsteps, the criminals attempted a hasty escape, pursued by the owners. Having climbed into a car parked on the street, they tried to escape at full speed, but the driver lost control of the vehicle, crashing into a parked car.
At that point, i bandits they abandoned the car and fled on foot, trying to lose their pursuers with gunshots. An action that deeply shocked the residents, increasingly exasperated by the continuous thefts that now occur even in the presence of the occupants of the houses.
In the Vesuvian towns the situation is increasingly critical: fear has given way to anger and the desire to react. The population is asking for more controls and effective measures to stop the criminal escalation.
Neighbors witnessed the scene and alerted the Green-Side Alliance MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli.
“People are tired and are no longer willing to suffer.” – declares Borrelli “But we cannot go on like this, something very serious and tragic could happen and it must be avoided at all costs. From Rome they continue to declare that more agents have been sent. They will be well hidden because the streets continue to be poorly guarded. Among other things, in the coming months the closure of another 2 Carabinieri barracks in the Naples area are planned: in Volla and in San Gennaro Vesuviano.”
