The ruling by the Court of Assizes of Milan, presided over by Judge Antonella Bertoja, came in conjunction with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, confirming the requests made by the public prosecutor Alessia Menegazzo and the deputy prosecutor Letizia Mannella.
Impagnatiello was convicted of aggravated murder (for premeditation, emotional bond and cruelty), non-consensual termination of pregnancy and aggravated concealment of a corpse. At the end of a trial lasting 13 hearings, which began in January 2024, the Court established the filing of the reasons for the sentence within 90 days.
In addition to the life sentence, the former bartender was sentenced to a further seven years in prison for concealing the body and for the non-consensual termination of pregnancy, with the formal recognition of the complicity between these crimes and the murder.

Furthermore, Impagnatiello he was sentenced to compensate the victim's family: 200 thousand euros each for Giulia Tramontano's parents and 150 thousand euros each for the young woman's brother and sister.
