As a world premiere, the Teatro CortéSe dei Colli Aminei will host the show “ 'O cunto d''a gavina e d''o gatto ca 'a mparaie a vvulà”, scheduled for Saturday, November 30th at 21 pm and Sunday, December 1st at 18 pm. The opera, directed by and starring actor and director Mario Mauro, is inspired by the famous story by Luis Sepúlveda, “The Story of a Seagull and the Cat Who Taught Her to Fly”.

A tale of friendship and differences

The theatrical representation stands out for its choice of translation into Neapolitan dialect, by Claudio Pennino, which makes the story accessible and warm to the local audience. This adaptation aims to evoke profound themes such as friendship, solidarity, and respect for differences, through a familiar and universally recognizable language.

Direction and stage emotion

The direction focuses on empathy and acceptance of others, even when they appear different. Thanks to a careful composition of words, gestures and atmospheres, the show urges spectators to consider the courage to face the unknown with confidence in true bonds. The essential and poetic scenography, together with the original music performed live by Davide Mauro and Emanuele De Luca, amplifies the emotions transmitted by this complex and engaging narration.
