Martusciello and Gasparri attack De Luca at Forza Italia toast

A frontal attack on the regional government of Vincenzo De Luca. The electoral campaign for the next regional elections in Campania is already in full swing. "The center-right has proposed extremely competitive solutions and we can't wait for October 2025 to arrive to change the government of the Region. There is a desire to participate and therefore we are very optimistic about the result, which will finally see a center-right president in the Campania Region".

These are the words of the head of the Forza Italia delegation to the European Parliament and regional coordinator of the party in Campania, Fulvio Martusciello, speaking about the regional elections scheduled for next year on the sidelines of the usual end-of-year toast organized by FI in Naples.

Senators Maurizio Gasparri and Franco Silvestro and the Honorable Franco Cascone and Tullio Ferrante also participated in the meeting. "We have been running for several days now," Martusciello continued, "and there is a great desire to participate. The government is preparing to challenge the regional law on the third mandate and we are building competitive lists to seriously address these regional elections."

On the hypothesis of his candidacy for president of the Region, Martusciello reiterates that he has given his availability, as Edmondo Cirielli did for FdI and Gianpiero Zinzi for the League.

"It is the demonstration - he explains - that here in Campania there is a great quality of ruling class. It seems to me that Piantedosi's candidacy has waned, also due to the will of the Prime Minister and his unavailability to want to represent the coalition, but the center-right has very competitive solutions here in Campania".

On the regional rule that allows the candidacy for a third consecutive term for the current president of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca, "I consider an appeal probable", said Maurizio Gasparri instead.

Then questioned by reporters, Gasparri replied: "I believe that there is a dialectic underway between the Government and the Region. The Region has made its own rules, I know that the national Government has asked for clarifications because before the possible appeal there is an exchange of correspondence, in the sense that the Government has made observations. The deadline is January 10 and therefore we will see what the Region responds to the Government and then the Government will make its decisions.

I consider it probable that these rules will be challenged, De Luca is not exempt from the rules of national laws and the Constitution, because for the Regions there is an entire chapter of the Constitution that establishes certain choices”. Gasparri added that he could “anticipate the strong doubts of the Government” and that the evaluation would be “very critical”.
