Reported episodes of violence and threats related to the sale of his car online on Marketplace: first they extorted 1.700 euros from him and then the means of transport as collateral.
The staff of the Police Station of Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi has executed the Order for the application of precautionary measures, issued by the Judge for Preliminary Investigations of the Court of Avellino, at the request of this Public Prosecutor's Office, against two people from Lioni, seriously suspected, at the stage of the investigations, of "aggravated extortion".
In particular, following the complaint of the injured party, the staff of that Police Station, having started the investigations, ascertained that the two suspects, in order to obtain an unjust profit, through violence and threats forced the injured party to pay, initially, the sum of Euro 500,00 and, at a second time, the sum of Euro 1.200,00, finally to hand over the car as a guarantee for the subsequent payments of money.
Specifically, the injured party, after having published, on an online sales site called Marketplace, the advertisement for the sale of his car, was contacted by a man interested in purchasing it, with whom he agreed on a purchase price of €500,00, since the car was not authorised for circulation, because it was subject to the administrative seizure measure.
As agreed with the potential buyer, he arranged for the vehicle in question to be transported on board a tow truck to the buyer's home in Lioni, and then proceeded to a car registration agency to formalize the transfer of ownership in favor of a person, indicated by one of the suspects as the buyer.
Subsequently, one of today's suspects requested, due to the administrative detention, a first sum of money; after receiving it, he attacked him with kicks and punches. Other threats followed and the unfortunate man was forced to go again to Lioni where he met, this time, the two suspects who threatened and attacked him again, demanding further sums of money and forcing him to hand over his car as a pledge as a guarantee for future payments.
The victim, at this point, did not comply with further extortion requests by filing a complaint with the Judicial Police. An investigation was thus started with the coordination of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Avellino, which allowed the reconstruction of the facts as reported. The GIP of the Court of Avellino, having examined the compliant request presented by the Public Prosecutor, considering that there were serious indications of guilt against the suspects, ordered the precautionary measure of prison against one suspect, while for the other, the measure of house arrest.
