The Carabinieri of the Operative and Radiomobile Nucleus of the Mercato San Severino Company have arrested Castel San Giorgio a 42-year-old local man, already under special surveillance.
He is accused of illegal possession of firearms, illegal possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing and violation of the obligations relating to special surveillance.
During a house search, the military found a veritable arsenal: a Hatsan pump-action shotgun, a Hatsan Escort MP-A semi-automatic shotgun, a Franchi semi-automatic shotgun, 20 cartridges of various calibers, as well as narcotics such as hashish and crack, precision scales and material for packaging the drug.
The man was then taken to the Salerno prison, where he is currently being held awaiting trial. The operation by the Carabinieri of Mercato San Severino represents an important blow to the fight against crime in the area and underlines the commitment of the police to guaranteeing safety and legality in the territory.
