Davide Buonocore, related to Roberto Murano, a prominent figure in the Contini clan, persecuted his ex-girlfriend, guilty of leaving him. The victim reported the incident and, after six arrests last June, the first-degree trial ended yesterday.
The judge of the abbreviated trial sentenced Buonocore to four years of imprisonment, while his uncle Murano received a one-year sentence. Lesser sentences, however, for the women involved: Stefania Palumbo, Carmela Palumbo, Annamaria Palumbo and Anna Murano, respectively wife, sister-in-law and daughter of the alleged clan leader, were sentenced to two years with suspended sentences.
The Prosecutor's Office had requested more severe sentences, but the judge may have opted for a requalification of the crime into threats, granting lower sentences. The investigative activity began with the complaint of the victim, who had suffered repeated threats, harassment and aggression.
The location of Goodcore it immediately appeared serious: already under house arrest for another incident, he allegedly went to his ex-girlfriend's house, together with his aunt Carmela Palumbo, to offend her and threaten her with death. Conduct aggravated by the mafia method, especially the proximity of the perpetrators to the Contini clan.
The victim had initially been induced to have a relationship with Buonocore and, following the decision to end it, to desist due to continuous acts of persecution. The last act took place on the night between May 7 and 8, when Buonocore, having learned of his ex's new relationship, showed up at her house railing against her.
Shortly after, a group of young people on scooters surrounded the building. The next day, Murano intervened, threatening the girl's relatives. A desperate attempt, neutralized by the complaint that the victim had already filed, asking for help from the State. Despite the seriousness of the facts, five people involved are now free again.
