Pontecagnano – Two kilos of hashish divided into blocks and doses ready for sale, a precision scale, a knife and a smartphone considered useful for drug dealing: this is what the Guardia di Finanza soldiers of the Cava de' Tirreni Company found during a search carried out last May 9th in Pontecagnano Faiano.
The one who ended up in handcuffs is Maurizio Avagliano, a 52-year-old local, arrested on charges of possession for the purpose of dealing in narcotics. The operation is part of the activities to combat drug trafficking conducted by the judicial police under the coordination of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Salerno.
According to the reconstruction by the Guardia di Finanza, the search allowed them to find the carefully packaged and hidden narcotic substance, ready to be placed on the local market.
Along with the drugs, typical tools used in drug dealing were seized: a precision scale for weighing doses, a knife for cutting the blocks and a mobile phone that will now be analyzed to identify any contacts with the network of buyers or suppliers.
The arrested person was transferred to the Fuorni prison, pending the decisions of the Judicial Authority.
