Counterfeit watches seized for sale on Via Toledo in Naples

Local police crackdown on counterfeiting in central Naples. Officers from the Chiaia Operations Unit carried out an operation in the heart of the city.

Near Via Toledo, on the corner of Piazzetta Matilde Serao, the Local Police seized a significant quantity of watches believed to be counterfeit, displayed for sale.

According to the checks, the products were found to lack serial numbers and other elements useful for identifying their origin and authenticity.

Trademark crimes contested

The person who allegedly sold the watches was charged with counterfeiting, alteration, or use of trademarks and distinctive signs of industrial products, as well as possession for sale of products bearing counterfeit trademarks.
