Vincenzo D'Alterio, known as 'O Malato', was found dead in his home in Varcaturo, where he was under house arrest.
The leading exponent of the Mallard clan di Giugliano and the coastal area representative was 69 years old. When rescuers arrived on site, it was already too late for the man. The police were on site to investigate the case

According to the lawyer Vincenzo D'Alterio was incompatible with the prison regime for serious health reasons (pulmonary emphysema and other respiratory diseases). D'Alterio had to serve 11 years and 4 months.
