The 15th edition of Sorrento Classica is underway with the artistic direction of Paolo Scibilia.
The XV edition of Sorrento Classica with the artistic direction of Paolo Scibilia, promoted by the Municipality of Sorrento with the Patronage of the Campania Region and Mic, will bring and perform on the stage of the Chiostro di San Francesco starting at 21.15 pm on August 7 the violinist Aiman Mussakhajayeva with the Academy of Soloists State Orchestra of Kazakhstan (Dastan Balagumarov, viola and Bakhytzhan Mussakhajayeva; conductor).
The program offered by the Kazakh musicians will be divided into Mozart's masterpieces, Symphony No. 29 in A major, K 1 201 (K 6 186a) and the Sinfonia concertante [No. 52] in E flat major for violin and viola, K 1 364 (K 6 320d) then tributes to J. Massenet Meditation, De Sarasate “Gypsy Airs”, De Falla “Spanish Dance”, finally C. Saint Saens Introduction and Rondò Capriccioso. Aiman Mussakhajayeva is among the best exponents of the violin school of Kazakhstan and expresses her personality both in her artistic and educational activity.
Her education began with N. Patrucheva at the Baysseitova School of Music and in 1983 she graduated with honors from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory in the class of Professor V. Klimov, People's Artist of the USSR and heir of the violin school of David Oistrakh. In 1976 she was a prizewinner at the prestigious Belgrade Competition and at the Paganini Competition in Genoa, the Tokyo Competition, the Sibelius Competition in Helsinki and the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow.
Her masterly technique, deep knowledge and understanding of different styles have enabled her to tackle the most complex compositions for violin and to build a vast repertoire that includes composers of all eras and styles. She plays in recitals, as a chamber musician and as a soloist with orchestra in the most important concert halls in Europe, Asia and the United States, collaborating with musicians such as J. Simonov, V. Gergiev, V. Fedoseev, S. Sondeckis, V. Tretjakov, M. Schiavo. F. Mansurov, V. Ashkenazy, M. Maisky, B. Canino, G. Emilsson, E. Batiz. In 1986 she was named People's Artist of Kazakhstan.
She taught at the Moscow Conservatory and in 1998 Aiman Mussakhajayeva realized her dream with the opening of the Kazakh National Academy of Music in Astana (the new capital of Kazakhstan), of which she is the Rector and where she teaches.
She records for Deutsche Grammophon and plays a Stradivarius violin. Aiman Mussakhajayeva has received numerous awards and recognitions: People's Artist, Honored Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, academician of the International Academy of the Arts, UNESCO "Artist for Peace".
