“Vesuvius and the shooting stars”: the unmissable tour on the most evocative path of the most famous volcano in the world
An exciting journey on the Vesuvius path 1, in search of the Perseids and discovering the wonders of the National Park. The tour is called “Vesuvius and the shooting stars” and will be held from 9 to 15 August 2022, organized by Umberto Saetta and the association of tourist guides “I Vesuviani”, who have been working for years promoting the seductive wonders of the Vesuvius National Park.
The tour is in its eighteenth edition and is scheduled to depart shortly before sunset from Rifugio Imbò, via Vesuvio Herculaneum (Piazzale di quota 1000). At dusk, one of the most evocative places in the Park, Valle dell'Inferno, with the Somma-Vesuvius caldera, will be observed from above. A walk near the most famous crater in the world is also planned. The destination has been identified in a panoramic area overlooking the Gulf of Castellammare: on that occasion there will be a free tasting of Vesuvian Docg wines.
Among the suggestions of “Vesuvius and the shooting stars”, the possibility of observing the stars from a thousand meters, of learning about the eruptive history of Vesuvius, among brilliant minerals and lava flows, of using all the senses, sharpened by the light at twilight and by the wild and uncontaminated nature.
