Discovering October authors and different literary genres who will present their novels and essays, set from coast to coast, in the spotlight, from 17.30 pm on Friday 21st, there will be the story La casa della domenica, written by Maddalena Della Valle, for Lastaria editions (2021): a delicate journey of the soul where fragility and torments can, at times, open the door to a happy ending.
Telling your story to give shape and substance to what has resurfaced from memories by reliving the experiences of Mila, a small but great protagonist of a story of separation dating back to the 50s, when women were still expected to submit to rules according to which they could not even verbally rebel. In the "Sunday house", where her father lives with his sister and where she is forced to go every week, she experiences the humiliation of not feeling loved, closing herself more and more in a solitary silence.
That little girl accompanied the writer on an inner journey in which the author found herself reliving the experiences that drove her to silence as a child, making her take refuge in a world of "stories" that are part of that personal heritage from which the desire and strength to write emerged.
