From Bergamo to Messina, passing through Genoa, Moncalieri, Pioltello, Florence, Rome, Naples, Lecce and Lamezia Terme: #lasciategiocareinpace. This is the slogan that girls, boys, families, teachers and social workers will launch starting from November 16th towards the World Day of the Rights of Children and Adolescents on November 20th. Promoting the mobilization made of games and workshops is the Ip Ip Urrà Network - Infanzia Prima, a project selected by the social enterprise Con i bambini, within the Fund for the fight against educational poverty in minors.

In Scampia two events that close a week of workshops dedicated to children from the youngest of Econido involving the older ones of the Fuori Scuola space and ICE Montale in collaboration with teachers and families on the theme of the rights expressed in the UN Convention and too often trampled and not recognized. The week will end with a double event at the E. Montale school on Friday 18 November at 9:00 and in the afternoon at 16:30 at the Chikù center headquarters of the association chi rom e…chi no.

In both moments the children will be the protagonists of an animated reading dedicated to the theme of the day: “Children are born to be happy” of Fatratac ed. and the register “Children are born to be happy,” then in a big circle they will tie the flags with their wishes and dreams to the trees present in a single thread that will hold them together with those of the other boys and girls from the south to the north of our country with a single voice in many languages: #lasciatecigiocareinpace.

The boys and girls together with the adults of reference, educators and teachers will reflect on the theme of the rights recognized and unfortunately still denied, in many places in the world far away but also close to us. They have chosen informal places to meet, squares, educational centers, libraries, schools and they will do it by reflecting and playing together starting from two fundamental themes stated by the Convention of '89: Play and PEACE and they will do it by building a chain of messages, wishes and prayers that is inspired by the flags of Tibetan prayers that will ideally unite from a south to a north of this country to shout out the right and the desire for a world that has the courage to lower itself to the height of boys and girls guaranteeing them a present and a future of peace, justice and environmental sustainability.

“The issue of children's and adolescents' rights remains central in our country – declares Barbara Pierro, coordinator of the Ip Ip Urrà – Infanzia Prima project – and in the world unfortunately crossed by wars, pandemics and justice crises. Those who pay the price are the youngest and adolescents who bear the worst effects of this climate of widespread injustice. The increase in educational poverty and inequalities in terms of formal and informal quality learning, with greater isolation of families and children are some of the consequences on which we try to intervene promptly, but it is necessary to build a vision of city/country and education that puts the youngest at the center – concludes Pierro – and guarantee them cities that are family-friendly, children and adolescents, the right to harmonious and peaceful growth and, above all, the right to play in peace."

The project was selected by Con i Bambini as part of the Fund for the fight against child educational poverty. The Fund was born from an agreement between the banking foundations represented by Acri, the National Third Sector Forum and the Government. It supports interventions aimed at removing economic, social and cultural obstacles that prevent minors from fully enjoying educational processes. To implement the Fund's programs, the social enterprise Con i Bambini was born in June 2016, a non-profit organization entirely owned by the CON IL SUD Foundation. www.conibambini.org.
