“We will work together to further enhance excellence such as GESAC and to prevent the tariff increase imposed by the ministry as part of the rebalancing of the financial budget of the Municipality from being implemented”.
This was stated by the President of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, regarding the increase of two euros in the boarding tax for passengers departing from Capodichino airport.
The ratification of the increase in the additional tax is scheduled for the City Council meeting on December 28 and is part of the commitments made by the Administration within the framework of the Pact for Naples, the agreement signed with the Draghi Government to restore the budget and relaunch services to citizens.
“In relation to the proposal to increase the additional boarding tax and the negative repercussions on the offer and costs of flights that are operated by Naples airport – explains De Luca – I had a cordial conversation with Mayor Manfredi to verify the possibility of intervening without penalizing users, flight operating companies and the airport management company itself.
The Government should make itself available so that solutions to the problem can be found. In this sense, we will take initiatives of dialogue with the Government, so that the most appropriate alternatives can be evaluated".
