The American investment bank Goldman Sachs is evaluating the possibility of providing financing to the Italian Serie A. Bloomberg reports, citing sources close to the dossier. The US institution, according to the same sources, has sent a letter to the top executives of Serie A expressing its preliminary interest as a financial partner to develop the business of the media company.

Spokespeople for Serie A and Goldman, contacted by Bloomberg, declined to comment. Earlier this week, the American agency reported, there were rumors that JPMorgan was considering providing up to 1 billion euros in bank financing to develop the business of the Serie A media company, using TV rights as collateral.
Goldman Sachs – the two sources said – had come forward in October, but news of its interest emerged only after Reuters reported yesterday that rival US bank JPMorgan had offered up to €1 billion in financing to Serie A.
