'The Invisible Child' on stage at Nest on December 16th and 17th

Being born in a neighborhood like Forcella can be difficult and, in some cases, it can be a path towards a life that can only lead to pain. Along this road there are many people, many events, so much life, all opportunities that can allow you to find the strength to change direction and save yourself from a destiny already marked. This is the thematic line that dictates the show "The Invisible Child”, a monologue starring Daniele Vicorito.

The text written by Bruno Barone, who also directs it and by Vicorito himself, retraces the life of Carmine, a son of Forcella. Recalling all the pains, difficulties and mistakes made by the boy, it also highlights everything that contributed to a profound change, the love for his loved ones, the birth of a son and the very close bond with cinema that has always accompanied the character's life. The monologue is structured as if it were a biography, written on events that partly happened in reality. Starting from some of these events, we went further, drawing a representative picture of a widespread social condition, in which many young people recognize themselves, a message of hope for a different and better future.

From a directorial point of view, the scene revolves around a few scenographic elements: a scaffolding, which will change shape by transforming itself several times during the show, dictating the space-time changes, and a sack hanging from the ceiling that will personify, from time to time, various characters. Stylistically, the monologue will maintain a very discursive character and a realistic imprint. There will be few moments of narration, while most of the scenes will focus on moments of real life, Carmine's relationships with his loved ones, his indecisions and insecurities, his mistakes and his great love for cinema, a passion that will be fundamental in his path of change.
