Followed by a talk with director Stefano Amatucci, actresses Luisa Amatucci and Isa Danieli, and producer Salvatore Suarato.
The horrors that lie behind the journeys of hope in the Mediterranean Sea told in the film “Caina”. Today, December 16, at 17:00 pm in the Basilica of San Severo fuori le Mura (Rione Sanità in Naples), as part of the “Take me to Church – Film Edition” event, there will be a screening of “Caina”, a film produced by Movieland and directed by Stefano Amatucci, a dark tale that tells the horrors of illegal immigration and the stories of those who didn’t make it.
At the end of the screening there will be a talk with the director Stefano Amatucci and with him the actresses Luisa Amatucci and Isa Danieli, the producer Salvatore Suarato who, very sensitive to the issue, in addition to having produced the film is producing some songs by Maestros, stage name of Abdul, a Nigerian boy who escaped death and war thanks to that journey, and today works in a hospitality facility in Castellammare di Stabia. Among the songs recorded in Afrobeat style, some tell precisely that terrible crossing. "Being able to see from the story of a survivor that what was told in the film Caina was all too real - explains Suarato - pushed me to lend a hand to boys like Abdul. And, after having produced the film in 2018, today I accompany him on his musical journey, producing his songs".
Simona Talamo, Sai coordinator of the Municipality of Naples, will also participate in the meeting. The talk that will be held at the end of the screening will be moderated by Sara Penelope Robin. “Take me to Church – Film Edition” is an event underway in Naples in the Rione Sanità (December 15/16/17), organized as part of the public notice “Christmas in Naples 2023” promoted by the Municipality of Naples and which has as its main theme migrations, the communities rooted in the city of Naples and other cultures that tell and integrate, regenerating the Neapolitan tradition. The event is completely free.
