Anti-weapons operation by the Carabinieri in the municipalities of the Vesuvian belt. In fact, during the night, the Carabinieri of the investigative unit of Castello di Cisterna conducted a wide-ranging operation in the northern area of Napoli to combat organised crime and track down weapons potentially in its possession.
The kidnappings
Sant'Anastasia: a 33-year-old with no criminal record arrested for possession of a clandestine weapon. The Carabinieri found a 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun with sawn-off barrels and serial number erased hidden in a cellar.
Pomigliano d'Arco: a 7.65 caliber semi-automatic pistol, a modified revolver and 26 rounds of ammunition of various calibers were seized during a search of the common areas of the 219 public housing blocks.
Somma Vesuviana: a 9×21 caliber Beretta pistol with the serial number erased and 9 bullets in the magazine was seized in the “Fiordaliso” public housing park.
The investigations continue to identify those responsible for the illegal possession of the weapons and to verify whether they were used in bloody acts or other crimes. The seized weapons will be subjected to ballistic tests.
