Matthew Lee: An Exceptional Talent
Matthew Lee, a unique crooner in the Italian music scene, stands out for his ability as a singer, composer and pianist. During his performances, he not only impresses with his virtuosity on the piano, but also involves the audience through a dynamic performance that includes original songs and rock 'n' roll classics by Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Ray Charles and Jerry Lee Lewis. There are also tributes to great artists of Italian music, such as the surprising version of "L'isola che non c'è" by Edoardo Bennato.
A Story of Passion and Success
Born in Pesaro, Matthew Lee fell in love with rock'n'roll at an early age thanks to Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis records he listened to with his father. This love for music pushed him to attend the G. Rossini Conservatory in Pesaro. However, his "exuberant" style did not conform to the canons of classical studies, but it became his distinctive sign that would lead him to success.
An International Career
Matthew Lee's live career began early and quickly expanded from Italy to Europe. After the successes achieved in England, where he was defined by the press as "The Genius of Rock'n'Roll," he continued to perform at renowned festivals and prestigious clubs such as the "Lionel Hampton Jazz Club" in Paris. International recognition was not long in coming, with performances also in the United States.
A Summer of Music and Culture
The Amalfi in Jazz festival will continue on Friday, July 26, 2024 with Ana Carla Maza, a young Cuban performer. Ana will offer a show that combines Latin rhythms, pop sounds, jazz harmonies and classical technique. Raised with the cello, she found her style performing in Parisian jazz clubs and cafes, marking the beginning of a brilliant career.
Events for All Tastes
The 2024 edition of Amalfi in Jazz will not only welcome international stars, but also offer a rich and varied program that includes events for all ages. Councilor Enza Cobalto emphasizes the importance of a program that revives the summer with beauty, fun and a strong cultural component, without forgetting the unique heritage of the city of Amalfi. In conclusion, Matthew Lee and his band will offer an unmissable evening to all lovers of good music and entertainment, continuing a tradition of excellence that makes Amalfi in Jazz a top summer event.
