Naples. A joint blitz by the Naples Local Police and the ASL Napoli 1 Centro led to the seizure of 540 kg of fresh and frozen fish products in a fishmonger's shop in San Carlo all'Arena, in the Ponti Rossi area.

The operation, carried out at the request of the Local Police following numerous complaints from residents about unpleasant odors and irregular waste disposal, allowed the discovery of several irregularities of a criminal, administrative and health-hygienic nature.
Among the most serious violations, the lack of traceability of fish products on sale, which led to the immediate seizure and destruction of the goods.
The owner of the fish restaurant was fined 1.000 euros for irregularities related to fish products and a further fine of 2.000 euros for non-conformities found in the area used as a restaurant.

Furthermore, the commercial activity illegally occupied 12 square meters of public land, displaying equipment and goods to atmospheric agents, and presented building violations inside the premises open to the public. For these reasons, the owner was reported to the Judicial Authority.
The joint control operation between the Local Police and the ASL represents a sign of attention and commitment in the fight against illegal activities, which have too often hit the headlines in Naples in recent weeks, and which put public health and the safety of citizens at risk.
