“The abuse of substances or alcohol – Imperato underlines – often constitutes, in fact, the detonator of the explosion of anger and violence for which a certain type of youth thus finds the possibility to vent discomfort and frustration through the commission of even very serious crimes, as happened on the night of September 14th in which the young man arrested after an evening spent drinking alcohol and spirits, for trivial reasons, barbarously attacked three boys, one of whom is in serious conditions and currently in a reserved prognosis, while two others suffered serious injuries”.
“The issue of alcohol abuse by minors – he recalls – is a topic that the district institutions have frequently discussed, trying to develop strategies aimed at combating the illicit supply of alcohol inside and around public places”.
An agreement was signed on June 18th, “under the aegis of the prefect of Salerno, Francesco Esposito”, aimed at “countering youth distress” and whose "the central point is the commitment undertaken by the ASL through the Serd and the mental health department, to structure a new organizational model to prevent the use of narcotic and alcoholic substances by minors, as well as to collaborate with the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Juvenile Court by reporting all cases in which intervention is requested by the health authority, including 118, for minors in a state of intoxication.
