### Naples hosts the third edition of the Pianeta Mare Film Festival
From October 7th to 11th, Naples will become a hub of marine culture thanks to the third edition of the Pianeta Mare Film Festival (PMFF). This event stands out for its profound focus on environmental issues and its commitment to promoting marine culture through film. This year, nearly 40 films from 24 countries will be screened, including three European and ten Italian premieres.
### International Jury of Excellence
The international jury of the PMFF will be chaired by Gianni Canova, rector of the IULM University of Milan, and will include prominent figures such as Teresa Saponangelo, David di Donatello award winner, and Sofía Brockenshire, a young Canadian director. The jury will have the task of evaluating the sixteen films in competition, representing over 40 nations, divided into two main categories: “Features film” (feature films) and “Short movies” (short films).
### Traveling Program
This year's PMFF will adopt a traveling format to involve various venues in Naples. Screenings will be held in various venues, including the Aula Magna of the University of Naples "Parthenope," the Filangieri Cinema, the Galleria Toledo theater, and the Darwin Dohrn Museum at the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn. The festival will open with an opening ceremony at the Filangieri Cinema and culminate with a full day of screenings and awards at the Darwin Dohrn Museum.

### Videomaking Lab
Among the festival's initiatives, the Videomaking Workshop will play a central role. Directed by filmmaker Valerio Ferrara and scientifically coordinated by Professor Maria Luisa Iavarone, the workshop will take place at the Parthenope University of Naples and will be open to 20 students under 30 from Italy and Europe. Participants will have the opportunity to create short films on environmental issues using smartphones.

The Pianeta Mare Film Festival is made possible thanks to the support of the Film Commission of the Campania Region, the Representation in Italy of the European Commission and the Fondazione Banco di Napoli. The festival also boasts numerous scientific, academic, cultural, institutional and business partners, such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network Agency and the Municipality of Naples.
