A journey between Mediterranean scrub, history and breathtaking views, with Capri on the horizon and the sea of the Sorrento Coast as a backdrop: Sunday 23 March the second itinerary of the project will be held “On the road to the Campania Marine Protected Areas Network”, an initiative promoted by the Campania region in collaboration with the three Marine Protected Areas of the Gulf of Naples: Gaiola, Kingdom of Neptune and Punta Campanella.
The excursion, free and guided by experts from the Italian Association of Environmental Hiking Guides (AIGAE), will start from Terms, Fraction Massa Lubrense, to reach Punta Campanella, the tip of the Sorrento Peninsula. A place of extraordinary value archaeological and landscape, with a spectacular view of Capri and the Bay of Ieranto.
The initiative is part of a broader plan of Strengthening the network of Marine Protected Areas in Campania, with the purpose of protect and promote the environmental and cultural heritage of the territory even in the winter months. The project aims to develop slow and sustainable tourism, enhancing the link between sea and land, a unique ecosystem that has given rise to extraordinary landscapes, traditions and architecture.
The official presentation of the project took place last week in Napoli, in the presence ofRegional Councillor for Tourism, Felice Casucciand Regional Manager Rosa Caterina Marmo and three directors of the Marine Protected Areas of the Gulf of Naples: Maurice Simeone (AMP Gaiola), Antonino Miccio (AMP Kingdom of Neptune) and Carmela Guidone (AMP Punta Campanella).
He also participated Rosalba Giugni, National President of Marevivo. The initiative is made possible thanks to the Infeas Network of Environmental Education Centers and contribution from the Campania Region.
