The Magic of Mystical Sounds at Palazzo D'Avalos
Dreamlike atmospheres and mystical sounds invaded Palazzo D'Avalos, located in the highest part of Procida, during the first musical residence called Samādhi. This event transcribed the four natural elements into the music of six incredible musicians, managing to bewitch the audience present.
The Protagonists of the Concert
The Samādhi musical residency was all about music, emotion, unity and silence. This incredible experience took place at Palazzo D'Avalos, where the sextet's final concert enchanted both residents and tourists. The room was packed with people on chairs and cushions, immersed in a soft and almost mystical atmosphere. Under the artistic direction of Alessandro Butera, the musicians Francesca Del Duca (percussion and singing), Edoardo Petretti (keyboards and accordion), Marco Zenini (electric bass), Pasquale Benincasa (percussion), Bruno Belardi (live electronics) and Butera himself (guitar and mohan veena), with the participation of Marcello Smigliante Gentile (mandoloncello) and Michele Lubrano Lavadera (live video), interpreted the four natural elements with their instruments.
The Creative Evolution
In the days leading up to the concert, the audience had the opportunity to witness the creative evolution of the musicians in one of the most evocative places on the island. This atmosphere full of charm and energy created a special bond between the people and the place, making the event unique.
The Legacy of Creative Personalities
Councilor Antonio Carannante emphasized how unique and creative personalities have been able, in the past, to create a strong emotional tension with these places, just as it happened with Alessandro Butera, artistic director of the event. He cited figures such as Libero De Rienzo and Adriano Casale, known as Bostik, to highlight the importance of relationships and cooperation between people, a central aspect of Samādhi. Furthermore, Mario Tronco, a well-known musician and conductor, defined the project as “romantic,” underlining how it allows people to meet and engage in the creation of beauty.
An Extraordinary Experience
Alessandro Butera said: “These were three intense days, full of music, reflection and sharing, which we hope will be repeated in the months to come. I thank those who collaborated with us, especially Stefano Morelli of the Vayu House Concert. It was an extraordinary experience. Thanks to the talent and creativity of exceptional artists, we will continue to explore and rediscover the beauty of what is authentic and profound, always guided by kindness and care for the human soul and spirit”.
A Growing Project
The initiative, sponsored by the Municipality of Procida, aims to host numerous other musical residences during the year. The goal is to welcome national and international artists, encouraging the growth and development of musical projects of great value, together with the promotion of the territory and its rich history.
