A dramatic family tragedy shocked Nuoro in the early hours of this morning.
Roberto Gleboni, a 52-year-old forestry worker, used a semi-automatic pistol, legally owned for sporting use, against his family. He killed his wife, Giusy Masetti, 43, from whom he was separated, and his daughter Martina, 26, a recent graduate and trainee at the court of Nuoro.
He seriously injured a neighbor, Paolo Sanna, who had intervened after the first shots. He also shot two other children, aged 14 and 13, one of whom died shortly after in hospital.
The tragedy took place in via Ichnusa. Subsequently, Gleboni went to via Gonario Pinna, where he shot his elderly mother, wounding her in the head, before taking his own life. The Carabinieri, the Police, the magistrate on duty and 118 intervened on the scene.
The injured were all transported to the San Francesco hospital in Nuoro. Roberto Gleboni worked at Forestas and was part of the territorial and regional management of Fai Cisl.
