Collapse of the Vela Celeste in Scampia: the Naples Prosecutor's Office appoints a second consultant. Last July 22, the collapse of a landing of one of the sails in the Scampia neighborhood caused the death of three people and the injury of twelve others, including seven children.
The investigations, coordinated by the prosecutor Manuela Persico, have never stopped and continue on two parallel fronts. The second consultant in charge is analyzing the vast documentation collected by the agents of the Naples Flying Squad.
A first line of investigation concerns the possible causes of the crollo related to the lack of or incorrect maintenance, while the second focuses on the possible responsibilities for the failure to execute the eviction order issued by the former mayor Luigi de Magistris. At the moment, the investigation is ongoing against unknown persons.
