Naples wanted to pay homage to Chiara Jaconis, the young tourist from Padua who was taken from her life by a tragic accident in the Spanish Quarter, with a mural that illuminates her memory.

Chiara's smiling face, captured by the artist in an instant of pure happiness, now shines on a wall, becoming a point of reference for all those who want to honor her memory.

The inauguration of the mural yesterday afternoon was an intense and moving moment. Friends, family and Neapolitan citizens, despite the rain, gathered around Chiara's loved ones, sharing their pain and their closeness. The bright colors of the painting illuminated a narrow alley, transforming it into a place of reflection and hope.

The mural, created by street artist Juan Pablo Gimenez, is not just a work of art, but a symbol of the affection that the Neapolitan community feels for Chiara and her ability to unite people even in the most difficult moments.

The choice to create a mural was dictated by the desire to transform pain into beauty, to give a concrete face to the memory of Chiara and to ensure that her story would not be forgotten. The artist, with his mastery, was able to capture the essence of the young woman from Padua, her joy of living and her passion for life.

The appreciation of Chiara's family members who were also donated two paintings

Chiara's family, yesterday in the presence of her mother Cristina, her father Gianfranco and her sister Roberta, were given two canvases, a portrait of the young woman painted by Gimenez and another image made by Ivano Nobile: a handcrafted product by the merchants, restaurateurs and artisans of the area and also some hand-made necklaces.

Parents of Chiara Jaconis They greatly appreciated the two initiatives: “These things could only be done in Naples, the city that adopted Chiara and that gave us a caress with the mural”.
