IThe Caruso Museum in Naples Selected for the ADI Design Index 2024
The prestigious “Museo Caruso” located at the Royal Palace of Naples has received an important recognition: it has been selected for inclusion in the ADI Design Index 2024. This achievement demonstrates the quality and innovation of the project dedicated to the famous tenor Enrico Caruso, an initiative conceived by Laura Valente and realized by NEO [Narrative Environments Operas].
A prestigious recognition
Being included in the ADI Design Index is a significant recognition in the field of Italian design, because it represents an official candidacy for the prestigious Compasso d'Oro, which will be awarded during the next edition. "The choice of such a cutting-edge project, so much so as to be selected, conceived by an innovative vision of Laura Valente and realized thanks to NEO, makes us proud", declared Mario Epifani, director of Palazzo Reale.
Interactive and innovative experience
The “Museo Caruso”, inaugurated in 2023, is housed in the monumental Sala Dorica of the Royal Palace of Naples. It offers a unique museum experience, which combines an exhibition of memorabilia of the legendary tenor with 3D animations, multimedia stations, and musical and cinematographic installations. These elements transform the museum into a fascinating exhibition space, attracting a heterogeneous public and involving enthusiasts and professionals. Laura Valente, curator of the museum, shared: “Dare to have a different vision of a museum dedicated to a voice, in our case 'the voice' par excellence, was possible thanks to the sharing and collaboration of a team with various souls…”.
The project has achieved considerable public success, with a large influx of both local and international visitors. It is considered a true “room of wonders”, a kaleidoscope of effects that fascinates and engages. The innovative narrative vision created by Neo has been fundamental in leading to the creation of a performative installation that has also been able to engage the new generations.
