Three tons of hashish, 255 kilos of marijuana and 53 kilos of cocaine. This is the outcome of the investigation that led to a further precautionary custody order in prison for Luca Lucci, leader of the Milan ultras, along with seven other people. The investigation, conducted by the Milan Flying Squad and coordinated by prosecutors Leonardo Lesti and Rosario Ferracane, dismantled an alleged association dedicated to international drug trafficking active between June 2020 and March 2021.

The criminal association, according to investigators, managed the importation of drugs into Italy from Spain and Morocco, using helicopters, truckers and warehouses located abroad. Lucci, nicknamed “belvaitaly” in encrypted chats, it is considered the “leader, promoter and financier” of the organization.
This new order represents the fourth for Lucci in just two and a half months. In September he was arrested as part of the operation Double Curve, an investigation into drugs and organised crime in the football fan bases San Siro. In November, another measure involved him for a major drug trafficking case with ties to the 'Ndrangheta, while on December 2 he was arrested for the attempted murder of ultra Enzo Anghinelli. The current investigation by the Milan District Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA) developed from a parallel thread of the investigations into the Anghinelli case.
The arrested and the role of technology
In addition to Lucci, the investigating judge Fabrizio Filice has signed the custody order for other ultras already involved in the operation Double CurveAmong these, Daniele Cataldo, known as “nano”, considered a close collaborator of Lucci, and Antonio Rosario Trimboli (“malverde”) and Rosario Calabria (“orso” or “orsotto”), both involved in the activities of selling the substances.
Among those wanted is an Albanian, nicknamed “don boni”, who operated from Spain as co-manager of the traffic together with Lucci. Also under investigation is Roberta Grassi, considered the “accountant” of the Rossoneri curve, already under house arrest for drugs and nicknamed “blonde”, who was in charge of collecting the money.
The investigations were based on a meticulous analysis of the suspects' communications through encrypted platforms, in particular the "SkyEcc" system, which allowed the reconstruction of the group's network and activities. At the same time as the arrest of the eight, 13 searches were carried out on other suspects.
