A meeting of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety took place this morning at the Prefecture of Naples in preparation for the New Year's celebrations.

Prefect Michele di Bari chaired the meeting, which was attended by the Councilor for Municipal Police and Legality, Antonio De Iesu, the Police Commissioner Maurizio Agricola, the Provincial Commander of the Carabinieri Biagio Storniolo and a representative of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza.
New Year's Eve Action Plan
During the meeting, a plan of interventions was outlined that aims to ensure safety during the holidays. In particular, attention will be paid to public places that will host events and public establishments with a high turnout of people.
The intensification of checks by the police forces has been ordered, in collaboration with the local police, especially in urban areas with a greater concentration of commercial activities and in the most popular meeting points, such as the bars of Chiaia, the Vomero district and the historic center.

It is interesting to see how the prefecture of Naples is organizing for New Year's Eve, but I believe that there should be more controls also in the peripheral areas and not only in the most crowded places, to guarantee everyone's safety.
