The territory of roccamonfina continues to record small seismic shocks, with magnitudes generally less than 1.5. These telluric events, detected by the new nearest seismic stations, are difficult to locate in detail, but are constantly monitored from INGV (National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology), which updates its web page when possible.
Mayor Carlo Montefusco reassured citizens and explained the situation, urging them to remain calm and avoid unnecessary alarmism: "We must learn not to give in to fear. Otherwise we will experience damages worse than those of the earthquake itself."
The mayor also wanted to clarify the situation of the schools, reassuring families about the safety of the school facilities. In recent years, in fact, the municipal buildings have been subject to safety measures and checks on seismic vulnerability, from which the full safety of the buildings emerged. However, as a precaution, the mayor announced the extension of the closure of schools of all levels until December 20, 2024: "Considering that the seismic event is still evolving, as a matter of complete caution and pending the final checks on the conditions of structural integrity by the structural engineers of the Region, I have ordered the extension of the closure of the schools".

It is important that schools are closed for safety, but also that citizens remain calm and do not become too alarmed. The situation is complicated but if there have been checks, safety should be guaranteed.
