Torre Annunziata – A heavy blow has been dealt to organized crime in Torre Annunziata. The military of the Torre Annunziata Carabinieri Group, by order of the Public Prosecutor's Office, have executed a precautionary order issued by the Court of Naples – Review Section, which led to the arrest of 11 people.
The arrested individuals are seriously suspected, to varying degrees, of the crimes of extortion and possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing. The charges are aggravated by the mafia method and the aim of facilitating the Gallo-Cavalieri clan, Gionta and the Camorra organization “IV system”, active in the area.
Entrepreneurs targeted and drug trafficking
The investigations revealed that the suspects had repeatedly carried out extortion against local entrepreneurs and managed a flourishing drug trafficking of various kinds.
The operation involved a large number of soldiers who carried out precautionary measures: 9 people were taken to prison, while 2 were placed under house arrest.
