The Municipality of Atrani is preparing to publish the tender for the safety of its rocky slopes and is updating its Civil Protection Plan by introducing the "dynamic anthropogenic factor" to improve risk management.

Atrani advances safety: competition for rocky cliffs and new guidelines for Civil Protection
Atrani is taking a decisive step toward protecting its territory with two initiatives aimed at increasing the safety of the village. The first concerns the imminent publication of the tender for the safety work on the rocky cliffs overlooking the town, on both the Ravello and Amalfi sides.
The project, definitively approved by the City Council with a total investment of 3,6 million euros, is now at an advanced stage: the technical documentation has been sent to the Central Procurement Office "Sele-Picentini" and the tender process will begin shortly.
At the same time, the city administration updated the Civil Protection Plan with a policy document signed by Mayor Michele Siravo. This update introduces an innovative element to risk planning, the so-called "dynamic anthropic factor," which takes into account the variation in population density in the alleys and square, especially during peak tourist days. This approach aims to optimize the management of hydrogeological and hydraulic risks associated with the Dragone stream.
The document also provides for the expansion of the municipal video surveillance network to monitor pedestrian flows with the support of artificial intelligence, thus enabling more precise calibration of evacuation times and an automated early warning system directed to the Municipal Operations Room.
Mayor Siravo emphasized that these actions represent "two concrete steps" to secure the area and make it more ready to deal with emergencies, especially in an ever-changing tourism landscape. The anticipated publication of the tender for the rocky ridges and the new Civil Protection guidelines mark important progress in Atrani's protection strategy.
