Caserta. Twenty hives already operational for Michele Mottola: the gift from the beekeepers' association after the destruction of the Trentola Ducenta farm.
Last February 28, 80 hives of the beekeeping farm of the young beekeeper Michele Mottola were set on fire, causing the death of approximately 700 thousand specimens.
The Regional Councilor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli, president of the Agriculture commission, immediately took care of the matter, offering his solidarity and support to the 23-year-old from Caserta, starting a fundraiser to be able to buy back the hives and starting a solidarity movement. It is thanks to this solidarity that Michele received a donation from the beekeepers' association APAS Campania, of which he himself is a part, 20 hives already operational.
"Thanks to these hives and the money from the fundraiser, which was credited to me, I will be able to restore more than 80% of the farm in a couple of weeks, at most. I am very happy, I can't wait to catch up and start again and for this I must thank those who have been close to me and have given me the opportunity to start again. Thank you very much" said Michele.

"It's a story that had a happy ending and for this we are really very happy but much more protection is needed for the young people who remain in their land investing resources, energy and feelings. Instead it seems that nowadays the attention and tributes are only for robbers, criminals and Camorristi, we are in a period of cultural delirium. We wish a big good luck to Michele who we will continue to support, his restart must represent the recovery and redemption of the healthy part of the territory. Thanks also to this story we are drafting a law in the region for the protection of bees" commented Borrelli and the radio host Gianni Simioli.
